Auto-Diagnose

Google released Auto-Diagnose, an LLM system that reads through massive integration test logs and tells you where the actual problem is. No more hunting through sixteen different log files to find one meaningful error message.

The tool tackles a real pain point. Integration tests fail constantly, but the logs are often thousands of lines of noise with the actual bug buried somewhere random. Auto-Diagnose processes all that output and surfaces the root cause automatically.

What makes this interesting is the practical application. Google isn’t trying to replace developers or revolutionise testing. They’re just solving the tedious bit where you spend twenty minutes scrolling through logs looking for the one line that matters.

The system is designed for scale, which makes sense coming from Google. We’d expect this to work better on larger codebases where log volume becomes genuinely unmanageable. Smaller teams might not see as much benefit, but anyone running complex integration suites will recognise the problem immediately.
